Last week I was contacted by Marks & Spencer, asking if I would be interested in a Valentine’s Day blogger challenge where I would choose an M&S dress for someone, and of course someone else would choose one for me. Obviously I jumped at the chance to do this, it sounded very exciting! And here is my post revealing the ‘results’ of the challenge :).
The blogger I was allocated to choose a dress for was the lovely Sera of The Agoraphobic Fashionista, and I was told that she had described her style as ‘a total mash up of gothic, vintage and luxe‘. First thing I got in my mind from that was lace, and I rounded up my dress search to lace ones. Thankfully I did a ‘lace dress’ search in Sera’s blog, since she had quite a few similar ones to the ones that I had chosen from M&S. The posts showed me that I was on a right track though, since she looked gorgeous in the dresses. Then I spotted this post and saw how beautiful she looked in a blush colour, with her enviable, gorgeous hair (yes I want long hair so badly, haha). So, in the end I decided to go with this pretty blush lace skater dress – I hope Sera loves it :)!
And my dress then? I know you want to see it :)! I don’t actually know who chose it for me yet, can’t wait to see her post! (EDIT: now I know it was Helen from The IT Guide – see her post here.) I only know that they said this about me and my style: ‘I was delighted to come across Hanna’s site as a result of this challenge. She has so many wonderful outfit posts which certainly helped to make my life easier when choosing this dress. Of all her outfits, my favourites were the ones featuring skater dresses with fuller skirts, so that’s the style of dress I went for. I have no doubt she’ll totally rock it and I can’t wait to see how she styles it!’
Thank you for the lovely words Helen :). And thank you for this cute navy skater dress. I styled it with a black ribbon as a belt, patent heels and added some edge to it with this spiked pearl necklace from ASOS.
