From casual to party with Curvissa

(Postaus on yhteistyö Curvissan kanssa, ja koska he eivät toimita Suomeen, jätin käännöksen tekemättä.)

It’s a week of celebration for 5 year old Curvissa – CONGRATULATIONS! To mark the occasion they challenged Naomi and myself to style a dress from their party wear range three ways. I chose this white lace dress and like you can see below, I styled it in two casual ways with a biker jacket and denim jacket, and wore it off the shoulder with heeled sandals for my party outfit. I think all the looks turned out well and I actually can’t wait to wear one of the casual looks to work soon – yes you read right, I have got a new job :)! (Thanks for all your nice messages and support, it has meant a lot to me!)

Plus North Premier Sponsor Spotlight: Curvissa

Hello lovies,

It’s time for the next one in our Plus North Premier Sponsor Spotlight series, and this time it’s Curvissa. They have a big collection and they offer shoes and accessories too, you can find something for everyone in their site.

For this post we were sent a cute pinafore dress that has cute buttons and pockets. I really think this is a cute dress, but unfortunately doesn’t really work for my bodyshape. I sized up to 30 (I’m normally 22-24 in dresses) and it’s still snug around my belly, and too big on my boob area. So if you have big boobs and not that big belly, I do recommend this dress. I added a belt and a vest to help with these problem areas, and it ended up looking better on me :).

Dress*: 30, Curvissa | Denim vest: 22, New Look Inspire | Belt: from a New Look dress (similar at ASOS Curve) | Shoes: Evans | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Shock

And now you should go and see the other girls’ posts – I’m sure they look gorgeous!

New York, Day #5

Hello my lovies,

Since I’ve been ill, I’ve FINALLY had time to start working on my backlog of posts. I can’t believe it has been 2 months since my trip to NYC, but I still have plenty of posts to do from that time. Well, in a way it’s nice for me to go back in time and think of the memories and laughter :).

This is an outfit that I wore for dinner with Dani. I was given this lovely denim dress from Curvissa, and I was meaning to wear it originally at the Denim & Diamonds Party. Unfortunately the dress was a bit too snug on me at the belly area, and I didn’t want to risk the poppers opening if I got tipsy, haha. But it worked nicely for the dinner, and I felt cute in it :)

Dress*: 28, Curvissa | Shoes: Evans (similar at ASOS) | Glasses: Select Specs | Necklace: Primark (pastel necklace at New Look) | Belt: ASOS Curve (similar at Dorothy Perkins) | Bracelets: Evans | Ring: ASOS Curve | Lippy: Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Rose Bud – available in Boots (similar by MAC)

The Plus-size Workwear Challenge: Pencil skirt

Hey my lovelies,

A few weeks ago the gorgeous Naomi of Diamonds n’ Pearls was asking other plus-size bloggers on Twitter if anyone would be interested in doing a five-week workwear challenge. There was a nice response and now it’s the 10 of us doing this! 2 of us will post each working day, and we have been given themes for each week. Please see this post by Naomi for more information :). First week’s challenge was a blazer, and you can see my post here.

This week’s challenge is pencil skirt or pussybow. Since I did a post with a pussybow blouse (the only one I own) a while ago, I decided to go with the pencil skirt. This burgundy jersey skirt is from Primark, the gorgeous wedges are from Shopbop, and I teamed them up with these awesome goodies I received from Curvissa last week – a long knit jumper and a blazer. The final touch is a toucan necklace from New Look. I think the look is very smart for work, but the sheerness of the knit and the wedges bring some sexiness to it. I’m happy I sized up for the jumper, as now it is lovely and oversized. (And thank you so much for taking my pics Isha.)
