OOTD: Happy Valentine’s Day

Hello lovelies,

Last week I was contacted by Marks & Spencer, asking if I would be interested in a Valentine’s Day blogger challenge where I would choose an M&S dress for someone, and of course someone else would choose one for me. Obviously I jumped at the chance to do this, it sounded very exciting! And here is my post revealing the ‘results’  of the challenge :).

The blogger I was allocated to choose a dress for was the lovely Sera of The Agoraphobic Fashionista, and I was told that she had described her style as ‘a total mash up of gothic, vintage and luxe‘. First thing I got in my mind from that was lace, and I rounded up my dress search to lace ones. Thankfully I did a ‘lace dress’ search in Sera’s blog, since she had quite a few similar ones to the ones that I had chosen from M&S. The posts showed me that I was on a right track though, since she looked gorgeous in the dresses. Then I spotted this post and saw how beautiful she looked in a blush colour, with her enviable, gorgeous hair (yes I want long hair so badly, haha). So, in the end I decided to go with this pretty blush lace skater dress – I hope Sera loves it :)!

And my dress then? I know you want to see it :)! I don’t actually know who chose it for me yet, can’t wait to see her post! (EDIT: now I know it was Helen from The IT Guide – see her post here.) I only know that they said this about me and my style: ‘I was delighted to come across Hanna’s site as a result of this challenge. She has so many wonderful outfit posts which certainly helped to make my life easier when choosing this dress. Of all her outfits, my favourites were the ones featuring skater dresses with fuller skirts, so that’s the style of dress I went for. I have no doubt she’ll totally rock it and I can’t wait to see how she styles it!’

Thank you for the lovely words Helen :). And thank you for this cute navy skater dress. I styled it with a black ribbon as a belt, patent heels and added some edge to it with this spiked pearl necklace from ASOS.

Fatshion Faceoff: Valentine’s special from IGIGI (plus a giveaway)

Hello lovelies,

First of all, you are NOT seeing things.. it is a Fatshion Faceoff post, but no, it is not Wednesday. We have a special challenge today, and it deserved its own slot in our schedule :).  If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). So, what is special about this post? First of all, it is not an item based – this is our first theme based Fatshion Faceoff. We got an opportunity to choose our ideal Valentine’s Day dresses from the amazing IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel and do the challenge based on that. How exciting is that?!?

IGIGI has the most stunning plus-size dresses and gowns, and I was excited to choose mine. I wanted it to be versatile though, that I can both glam it up or dress down if necessary. I ended up choosing the Rebecca Gown in Evergreen, and the dress is the most amazing shade of green I have ever seen, I absolutely love it! The dress came with the belt, but I ended up wearing it with a black belt, since it fit my whole outfit better. I teamed it up with my sequin blazer, a pair of kitten heels, silver necklace, red lippy and a gorgeous green bracelet that I got from Dani. Now as the only single Fatshion Faceoff-girl, all I need is a date!!! ;)

Single on Valentine’s Day? Who cares!!!

I got an amazing package from my friend Dani of DIY Fatshion today! You can’t believe how happy I was to get it! I already knew what was inside.. this BEAUTIFUL skirt from Old Navy, and I couldn’t wait to get home and try it on. And it fits like a dream!!!! I absolutely love it! Thank you SO MUCH Dani, you really made me a happy girl today :)!

(And it wasn’t the only thing in the package, Dani was sneaky and got me a cute top as well! And you will see it in some later OOTD I’m sure.)

The super beautiful skirt gave me an idea for tomorrow.. so, it’s Valentine’s Day, but I’m single. And I decided to dress prettily tomorrow so that guys will see what they’re missing ;)! I wanted to team the skirt up with the polka dot top I got from H&M on Saturday, and with cute wedge booties I got from Style369.com today. I tried the outfit on already, and my flatmate took my OOTD pictures, so here we go…

See! The skirt even has pockets! IT’S PERFECT!
